Banquet

A major purpose of the banquet is to recognize our bowhunters and volunteers, but there are also games, prizes, raffles, silent and live auctions. It is an opportunity for our members to enjoy a meal, hang out with friends, swap stories, and potentially go home with some cool stuff.

The Big Game Awards are given out by South Fork Archers to recognize our bowhunters. In order to be eligible for the big game awards you must be a current SFA member, the animal must be scored, and taken in the state of Idaho under Pope and Young rules of fair chase and in accordance with all Idaho Fish and Game laws using archery equipment. There are Big Game Awards for: Best of species, male bowhunter of the year, female bowhunter of the year and youth bowhunter of the year.  The complete list of eligible species can be found on page 5 of the South Fork Archers Bylaws. Only Idaho native species are eligible for big game awards, but the Big Game Chairman may choose to give special recognition to any other harvest taken with archery equipment by a South Fork Archers member. We also provide all bowhunters an opportunity to show off their harvests regardless of species or scoring in our slide show.

We reward our volunteers because without their sacrifices and efforts we wouldn’t have the club we have today. We honor our participation points at the banquet and have a separate raffle table solely for those who have taken the time out of their busy schedules to help support our club. We recognize one individual who has stood out from the crowd and they are honored with the “Bill Reseigh” award. This award is for the individual who has put forth the most time, effort and all in all who we feel has sacrificed the most for the benefit of the club.

Contact a board member if you have goods or services you would like to donate as raffle or auction items.
